Swedish-Greek Artist Plàsi Shares New Single “Avignon” + Announces Forthcoming EP ‘Salamina’ Out July 26

Today, Plàsi, the Swedish-Greek airy folk artist known for his distinctive blend of musical influences, shares his new single, “Avignon.” The track is lifted off his forthcoming EP Salamina out July 26th via Nettwerk. The single is accompanied by a visually stunning music video, filmed in Super 8 and directed by Olof Grind.
“Avignon” marks a departure from Plàsi’s usual style, as he collaborates with Björn Yttling (Lykke Li, Peter Björn & John, First Aid Kit) to create a musical fusion that surprised even himself. The track, born during recording sessions, captures the meeting point of their artistic worlds in an unexpected and exciting way. Inspired by the vision of a dreamy road trip from Sweden to France, along the French south coast, “Avignon” takes listeners on a captivating and adventurous journey reflected in both the music and the official video.

Lacing the laidback beat with electric guitar, Plàsi shares this about “Avignon,” “It’s the most experimental song on the EP. It has a sound that I didn’t expect we would reach before entering the studio, but it really made me take a step into exciting territory together with Yttling.” Following his two previous 2024 singles, “Innocent” and “All of Me,” “Avignon” showcases another side of Plàsi’s musicality, offering a fresh and exciting perspective on his artistry.
