Indie-Disco Duo NEIL FRANCES Release Debut Album ‘There Is No Neil Frances’; Kick Off Tour with Sold-Out Dates

January 28, 2022 BY Jason Currell

January 28, 2022 – Today, Los Angeles duo Neil Frances (Jordan Feller and Marc Gilfry) are excited to share their long-awaited debut album, There Is No Neil Frances. The record was recorded by the duo in their Echo Park studio over the past year and cuts to the heart of what makes Neil Frances who they are and, for the first time, the tracks are bound by a common, cohesive narrative. The album loosely tells the story of an insect aspiring to find its place in a utopian dreamscape. The band explains, “Our new album is about self-realization and becoming the person that you dream of. The concept is that we are insects on earth who ascend into outer space to become divas at a galactic ball.”

Neil Frances’ 2018 debut EP, Took A While, with its blend of psychedelic rhythms, vibe-y, infectious grooves, and raw, funky spirit put them firmly on the map and propelled them to tour slots with Jungle and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Their 2021 EP, Stay Strong Play Long, featured collaborations with Poolside and Raffaella and included their cover of “Music Sounds Better With You,” which has amassed over 70 million streams. They continued the momentum this fall, opening for a sold-out SG Lewis show at The Shrine and being selected to perform at Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco. With more festivals to come in 2022, they are already announced as part of the lineup for Electric Forest in June.

Putting special emphasis on their enthralling live sets and preferring to perform with a multi-piece band, the group has developed a reputation as a must-see stage artist. They kicked off the headlining U.S. tour this week with two nights sold-out at The Independent in San Francisco. Next up is a record-release show tomorrow night at The Fonda in Los Angeles before hitting the road with stops in Austin, D.C, Chicago, New York, and more. A full list of dates below and tickets are on-sale now.
