Indie Disco Duo NEIL FRANCES Announce Debut Album ‘There Is No Neil Frances’ and U.S. Tour; Listen To “Be Free”

October 27, 2021 BY Nettwerk

Los Angeles duo Neil Frances (Jordan Feller and Marc Gilfry) are excited to announce their long-awaited debut album, There Is No Neil Frances, will be released on January 28, 2022.  While it was recorded by the duo in their Echo Park studio over the past year, the album takes the listener to a heady intergalactic dance party filled with disco beats and hazy 70’s grooves. The band explains, “Our new album is about self-realization and becoming the person that you dream of. The concept is that we are insects on earth who ascend into outer space to become divas at a galactic ball.

Following a sold-out show with SG Lewis at The Shrine in Los Angeles, the group will be performing at Outside Lands in San Francisco on Sunday at the Panhandle Stage. This week they announced a headlining 2022 US Tour to support, There Is No Neil Frances, which goes on sale tomorrow. The tour launches in Pomona, CA on January 23rd and includes stops in SF, LA, Austin, DC, NYC, Chicago, and more before ending in Portland, OR on February 26th. Putting special emphasis on their enthralling live sets and preferring to perform with a multi-piece band, the group has developed a reputation as a must-see stage artist. A complete list of dates is below.

Tomorrow, the duo will share a taste of the upcoming new album with their funky new single, “Be Free.” The track follows, “It’s Like A Dream,” a daytime disco banger that has already become a crowd favorite at rooftop parties around LA.

Neil Frances formed in 2016, having both relocated to LA in pursuit of new projects. With Gilfry’s inherent knack for hooks and melodies and Feller’s encyclopedic sonic recall ability and vast knowledge of production, the pair hit it off and began to develop their brand of beat-driven pop earworms infused with a more organic warmth than most modern electronic dance music. Their 2018 debut EP, Took A While, with its blend of psychedelic rhythms, vibe-y, infectious grooves, and raw, funky spirit put Neil Frances firmly on the map and propelled them to tour slots with Jungle and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Their 2021 EP, Stay Strong Play Long, featured collaborations with Poolside and Raffaella and included their cover of “Music Sounds Better With You,” which has amassed over 60 million streams. They have garnered praise from Under The Radar, KCRW, Magnetic, The Fader, Flood, Brooklyn Vegan, and more.
