Enigmatic Milanese band NAVA shares the Persian-dance inspired ‘Bones’

The enigmatic Milan-via-Iran band NAVA have recently shared the third single ‘Bones‘ from their forthcoming debut EP. It’s another exhilarating, high-octane song featuring Nava Golchini’s slithering vocals and sharp lyricism, all held together by heavy Persian-dance inspired beats and minimal techno flourishes.
“Bones is about the weight of words, how they can burry you and yet set you flying in outer space” the band cryptically explained. “Bones is what’s left of us when everything else deteriorates, it’s our hardest part but that’s what keeps us standing.”

NAVA formed in Milan in 2016. Originally from Iran, singer Nava Golchini met producer & arranger Francesco Fugazza whilst studying music in Italy. The collaboration then expanded to include drummers Elia Pastori and Marco Fugazza. Talking cues from Italy’s current flourishing electronic music scene and international acts like Arca, Apparat, Purity Ring, etc, NAVA are a real cultural blender, melding Golchini’s own Persian musical background and the band’s experimental & topsy-turvy arrangements, into something truly cosmopolitan and visceral. Their debut songs such as ‘Navigate’, released originally on Italian indie label Factory Flaws, garnered attention from The Line of Best Fit, Rolling Stone Italy, Earmilk, Red Bull and more.
The quartet are currently working on their debut EP, to be released with Nettwerk Records (Mallrat, Boxed In, Vök, The Veils) in the summer.
