Boston Rapper Snøw Goes Acoustic on New EP ’32 Degrees’ (Out Nov 3)

September 15, 2023 BY Bailey Vigliaturo

Today, sad-rapper, producer, instrumentalist and songwriter Snøw announces his new EP 32 Degrees, reflecting the passion for cold weather that inspired his artist name. The six-track EP is the second from the Salem, MA-based artist as a signee of Nettwerk.

“I wrote, produced and created all the tracks on the EP [myself], which are all guitar only,” reflects Snøw on the process of making the EP, “kind of reminiscing of my origins when I started creating music,”

The stripped-down production on the EP’s lead singles “Swishers” and “Death of Me” creates more of a folk feeling than hip-hop, representing yet another evolution in Snøw’s artistry after releasing his first ever songs entirely in Spanish earlier this year. With a title nodding to the freezing point of water, cover art depicting a snow-blanketed forest of trees covered by an icy blue gradient, and lyrics about lovers acting cold to one another, 32 Degrees is as thematically consistent as it gets.

Today, Snøw shares the EP’s fourth single, entitled “Suzu.” Continuing the anime titling trend that he set into motion with previous single “Shigaraki,” “Suzu” was inspired by watching the anime Suzume.

“This song is about loving someone so much you’d sacrifice the world for them,”  Snøw reflects.

2023 has been a major year of growth for Snøw as a live performer. Back in March, he took the stage at The Line of Best Fit’s SXSW showcase, alongside the likes of Been Stellar, Enumclaw and Jaguar Jonze. He followed this up in June with his first performance with a drummer, headlining the 1500-capacity Big Night Live as part of a showcase presented by the Music You’re Missing Podcast.
