Amsterdam Singer/Songwriter Nina June Returns with “Wish You Well” Feat Old Sea Brigade

September 29, 2023 BY Bailey Vigliaturo

Amsterdam-based singer/songwriter Nina June returns with dreamy new single “Wish You Well” [feat. Old Sea Brigade], where her sultry vocals coast over breezy acoustic guitar, picking up momentum as the chorus hits: “I want to wish you well, but I don’t want to leave.” Old Sea Brigade counters with an equally passionate passage as their vocals melt together.

“It’s about two people who cannot live with or without each other,” June notes. “The chorus essentially feels like they’re fighting and making up again. You can get really tired of the process, because it happens over and over again. Even though it’s a heavy subject, it’s still a dance between these lovers.”

Old Sea Brigade adds, “I’ve always been a big fan of Nina, so it was an honor to write this one with her. We wrote it over zoom during the pandemic, then last February we got to finally meet in person and sing together at my show in Amsterdam. It was a nice full circle moment. Happy for this song to finally be out in the world.”

Nina June adorns living and breathing alternative pop soundscapes with keen observations, earned wisdom, and arresting storytelling. During 2021, she reached critical mass with her sophomore album, Meet Me on The Edge of Our Ruin. The standout “Rainbow Ashes” reeled in over 7 million Spotify streams and counting, and she incited widespread tastemaker applause from American SongwriterAtwood MagazineMUNDANEUnder The Radar MagazineUnpublished, and more. FLAUNT christened it “10 eloquent and artful arrangements, while Rolling Stone (DE) took note of June’s “glitter voice.”
