Indie-rock Duo Vacation Manor Celebrates Major Milestones with Deeply Personal ‘Back To Town’ EP
May 16, 2025 BY Emma Orland
Virginia indie-rock duo Vacation Manor release their intimate new EP Back To Town today via Nettwerk. Self-produced by Nathan Towles [guitar, vocals] and Cole Young [drums] over the past two years, the six songs celebrate major milestones such as marriage, fatherhood, and 10 years as a band. Listen HERE.
“We’ve always set out to make records that feel personal and honest. Simply put, ‘Back to Town’ was my way of reconciling the past, trying to live into the present, and have a sense of optimism for the future. Sonically this collection of songs draws from a lot of our main influences (The Sundays, Wilco, The Cure, Brandon Flowers, Oasis, Nick Drake, etc.) in a way that felt authentic to us,” shares Nathan.
To celebrate the Back To Town EP release, Vacation Manor releases the music video for “Casio Cure,” today. Filmed during the band’s recent headline tour, the single captures the feeling of aimlessness as a teenager, while facing limitless potential. Watch HERE.
Since 2016, Vacation Manor has combined an artful blend of eloquent lyricism, alternative experimentation, indie rock energy, and unassuming pop appeal. The duo emerged with the Girl, Say EP, highlighted by “Careless” and the breakout “A Toast and a Spirit.” The pair progressed over the course of Everything I Can’t Say Out Loud [2019] and Vacation Manor [2021]. Along the way, they toured alongside Briston Maroney and Night Traveler, performing at festivals such as Bright Shade Music & Arts Festival. Their music has earned acclaim from American Songwriter, Atwood, Magnet, and support from brands like Blundstone and Gibson. Now, with the release of Back To Town, Vacation Manor pulls fans deeper into their embrace.
