June 14, 2024 BY Emma Orland

Vienna-based indie-pop singer/songwriter OSKA returns with “Forever Blue,” a playful and nostalgic song that is the perfect addition to summer road trip playlists. Through jangly guitars, celestial harmonics and upbeat percussion, OSKA reminds us to find solace in the little things in life with your favorite people.  Listen to “Forever Blue” here: https://oska.ffm.to/foreverblue

Inspired by a car ride she took with a childhood friend playing their favorite songs for hours on end, OSKA says, “It felt like being children again; playing, goofing around, snoozing off in the car; not a worry in the world. This song is about reflecting on tough situations and realizations, like childhood ending. It’s also about friendship and the beauty of having people in your life who can make you feel at peace by something as simple as listening to music together.”

“Forever Blue” is the third new single of 2024 from OSKA. She previously released the enchanting  and hopeful “April, May, July” and the melodic and comforting “Like A Song,” all of which will be featured on her upcoming full-length album, details forthcoming.

After making waves at SXSW, with LUNA Collective calling her “Vienna’s Rising Star” and Indie Shuffle naming her a “best act” and “crowd silencer,” OSKA is back in Europe, where she has just launched her “Forever Blue” tour. The run includes headline dates, festival appearances, and four very special nights opening for Coldplay in her home city alongside Maggie Rogers. All dates can be found HERE.

OSKA’s 2022 debut album, My World, My Love, Paris, features 12 songs that see OSKA weave together tales of her family life and the experience of being a young person growing up in the world. With candor and charm, her authentic self comes through in honest lyricism and tender melodies. The album boasts more than 20 million Spotify streams and received praise from media like Under The Radar (“OSKA has a special talent for bittersweet yearning poeticism”), COLLiDE (“there is an underlying sense that everyone can relate to OSKA’s melancholic disposition”), Atwood (“determined to inspire listeners through poetic verse and beautiful melodies alike”), Clout (“Must-hear pieces of work”), Nothing But Hope & Passion (“the result is as profound as it is charming”), and more. She spent much of 2022 and 2023 on the road, making her Great Escape debut, and supporting Stu Larsen, Haevn, SYML, and most recently, Tom Odell.

Growing up in a small village in Lower Austria, OSKA moved to Vienna at 18 to study her first love; music. She started busking in streets and squares of the capital while also studying pop and jazz singing. She signed to Nettwerk in 2020 and released her debut EP Honeymoon Phase to critical acclaim. The five songs on the album have amassed more than 8 million Spotify streams and won her the XA Music Export Award at Waves Vienna Festival 2020, and the Amadeus Austrian Music Award for “Best Sound” in 2022. Stay tuned for more news and music from OSKA.
