Freyr Releases New Single “New Man” Off Of Upcoming EP, Due 2026

Swedish-Icelandic songwriter Freyr returns with his powerful new single “New Man,” opening the next chapter of his story. Built around acoustic warmth, organic textures and spacious, melodic songwriting, “New Man” continues Freyr’s journey of pairing intimate folk sensibilities with a modern, cinematic sound. 

On “New Man,” Freyr turns inward, confronting the version of himself he can no longer live with and choosing, instead, to begin again. The track balances quiet reflection with a sense of forward motion. It is gentle yet resolute, rooted in the belief that real change starts from within.

“There was a time when I couldn’t stand the person I’d become. I was filled with regret for the people I’d hurt and exhausted by my own excuses. ‘New Man’ is me drawing a line and saying: this ends here. I wanted to start again, from the inside, and become someone I could respect, someone the people I love could trust again.”

He explains that the song became a deeply cathartic moment, a declaration of renewal and the courage it takes to rebuild oneself with honesty and compassion.
