April 26, 2024 BY Bailey Vigliaturo

23-year-old indie-pop sensation, PEGGY, finds magic with an acoustic guitar in her hand and a boundless vision for what pop music can be on her new DEAR READER EP. The project explores the universal themes of relationships, self-love, mental health, and more.

“When I listen to the songs on the project, it’s like I’m escaping into a sanctuary or a safe place. I get overwhelmed very easily, and the world can be too much. Sonically, I’m creating the world I want to create. I get calm from the music, so I don’t feel so overwhelmed. My world is less of a ‘place’ and more of a feeling,” says PEGGY.

DEAR READER represents PEGGY’s musical diary, encapsulating daily struggles, life lessons, literary inspirations, cinematic motifs, character studies, and historical reflections that resonate deeply with her.

The project boasts collaborations with remarkable talents, including the late Bram Inscore, recognized for his contributions to Troye Sivan and Beck, as well as Andrew Tufano, known for his work with sad alexRosie Darling, and Katelyn TarverDear Reader includes previous releases, MESS,” the entrancing ALICE,” and the quirky FLIGHT RISK,” which have already garnered millions of streams.

Speaking about her lead single “Feminine Rage,” PEGGY shares, “‘Feminine Rage’ to me is more of a feeling, then feeling of getting the short end of the stick as a woman in many aspects of life. This song is a culmination of stories and historical facts in which men portrayed women in a way that pushes the narrative that they are less than or unworthy of a happy ending in the same way a man would be.”
