Luca Fogale BURNABY, BC SINGER-SONGWRITER SHARES NEW SINGLE “DANIEL’S THEME” AND ANNOUNCES NEW 2026 TOUR DATES

November 18, 2025 BY Bailey Vigliaturo

Today, Burnaby, BC-based indie folk artist Luca Fogale shares “Daniel’s Theme,” the latest single from his forthcoming album Challenger. It’s the sixth taste of the fast-approaching record (Jan 30, Nettwerk), following “Begin” in April, “Ashes” in June, “Lost Without You” in July, “For” in August and “Horizon” in October.

Challenger will be Fogale’s third studio album, following 2020’s Nothing is Lost and 2023’s Run Where the Light Calls, both of which scored nominations for Best Adult Contemporary Album at Canada’s JUNO Awards. Like its predecessors, Challenger doubles as an emotional sanctuary, but this time, he approaches the writing with a new edge. Luca, who produced the album himself, creates a story arc modeled after the last two years of his life. Starting in a dark place full of uncertainty and feelings of worthlessness, the album sees Luca build himself up, leaning on support from his closest friends to distance himself from the parts of his past that no longer serve him. By the end, he’s reached a newfound clarity, to the point where he can comfortably offer his own shoulder for others to lean on.

“To fail, to fall, to learn, to challenge, to change. Challenger is a journey through the reconstruction of selfhood,” shares Luca. “This album explores what it could mean to confront the past with courage and grace, in hopes of creating space for growth and healing.”

For Luca, “Daniel’s Theme” crystallizes the type of person he hopes to be. Daniel is “an archetype of a man that I have met many times throughout my life; one who has faced hurt and hardship and adversity, but who has carried on with deep strength and kindness. [He] endures through every challenge with quiet resolve, and is everyone’s champion. It’s a reminder to myself that I don’t have to let the scars of life dictate how I show up in the world.”

In the new year, Luca will play album release shows in Los Angeles and Vancouver, as well as a new string of European tour dates. His live performances have become known for eliciting emotional reactions from fans with warm, gentle vocals and raw, vulnerable lyrics. Since he got his start playing gigs at bars and yoga studios for 50 CAD, Luca has headlined tours across North America and Europe, and has shared stages with the likes of Hollow Coves, 7X JUNO winner Serena Ryder, and even Dermot Kennedy at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena.
