Zero 7 Remixes SYML’s “Symmetry”

Zero 7 has remixed two versions of the SYML song “Symmetry“: a downtempo take and the more uptempo “Mix For Trouble.” SYML, aka Brian Fennell, says of the remixes, “I have been a huge fan of Zero 7 since their album ‘Simple Things’ released back in 2001. It’s not lost on me how special it is that they created two different remixes for ‘Symmetry.’”

Returning home to Seattle in March from a tour with Dermot Kennedy, SYML has remained busy. Last month, the artist released a studio session, Live from Nest Recorders, with all proceeds supporting MusiCares Covid-19 Relief Fund and released a cover of the beloved George Harrison song, “Here Comes The Sun,” part of which was originally featured in a Nike China campaign.
Zero 7’s debut album in 2001: Simple Things sold over a million copies and was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and the band as ‘Best Newcomer’ at the Brit Awards. This was followed in 2004 by When It Falls & their third album The Garden was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2006. Two further albums Yeah Ghost (2009) and a best of Record (2010) completed their time with Atlantic Records. They have in recent years been releasing a long series of EPs and 12”s on their own label Make Records. Previous remixes include Radiohead, N.E.R.D., London Grammar, Terry Callier and Lambchop.
