William Fitzsimmons Announces October Tour; Watch “Better” Video

In October, William Fitzsimmons will head back on the road with Jake Phillips for a series of dates following the nearly sold-out tour with Denison Witmer last month.
Partnering with The Bluegrass Situation, Fitzsimmons shares the official music video for “Better” from the mini-album titled Pittsburgh (out now via Nettwerk Records).

“‘Better’ is simply about accepting that you can’t save somebody who isn’t ready to be saved,” Fitzsimmons explains. “Death, abuse, addiction … it doesn’t matter. You do everything in your power, but that can only go so far. It’s not a pleasant place to have to get to, but it’s a necessary one.”

Pittsburgh is a collection of seven songs about the city where he was born and raised. Fitzsimmons credits the gift of music to his mother, and consequently his grandmother. In October 2014, his grandmother passed away and during the three days spent putting her to rest, Pittsburgh was formed.
Available only through Spotify, Fitzsimmons will release a deluxe package of the album featuring three acoustic tracks, including a live version taped during last month’s tour (out July 24). See full track list below.
