WILD RIVERS To Support THE CHICKS This Summer In U.S.; Nominated For Breakthrough Group By JUNO Awards

February 17, 2023 BY Bailey Vigliaturo

Wild Rivers are excited to announce they will join The Chicks on part of their North American summer tour. Starting in July, they will support them at iconic venues like the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and the Merriweather Post Pavilion in MD. A full list of dates is below. The tour announcement follows the big news that the trio was nominated for Breakthrough Group of The Year at the upcoming 2023 JUNO Awards. It marks the first JUNO nomination for the band who are certified Gold in Canada for their single, “Thinking ‘Bout Love,” which has over 150 million worldwide streams.

Wild Rivers [Khalid Yassein (guitars, vocals, keys), Andrew Oliver (lead guitar, synths), Devan Glover (vocals)] latest album, Sidelines, which debuted at #9 in the U.S. on the Spotify Debut Album Chart, captures the band as they navigate their twenties, moving from the college years into the uncharted territories of adulthood. It was co-produced by Peter Katis (The National, Interpol, Sharon van Etten) and recorded in Connecticut, Los Angeles, and Khalid and Devan’s college town of Kingston, Ontario. Described by Line of Best Fit as “a confident and mature record,” while Wonderland said it is “sure to calm your soul and centre your mind” and Under the Radar lauded the band’s sophomore album as “a piece of poignant pop beauty.” Wild Rivers have earned over 450 million streams, 4 million monthly listeners, and a devoted fanbase for their expertly crafted harmonies, introspective lyricism, and incredible live show. The band spent the majority of 2022 on the road in support of, Sidelines, selling out venues like Brooklyn Steel in NYC and the El Rey in LA and playing festivals like Bonnaroo and Bottlerock. The band is currently working on new music and released their first new single, “Don’t,” earlier this year.
