Wanting Announces North American Tour
January 17, 2018 BY Nettwerk
Vancouver based, multi-platinum selling artist Wanting announced a headline North American tour starting on February 18 in Eugene, OR at Hi-Fi Music Hall and concludes on March 3 in Toronto, ON at The Opera House. A full list of tour dates below.
The award winning singer-songwriter’s latest album is called LLL. “It stands for Love, Loss and Latitude,” says Wanting, “It’s about falling in love and facing all the good and the bad that love brings. When one can’t save love and it becomes loss, you feel hurt, confused, sad and defeated. When you feel the world left you with nothing, remember you still have you, that feeling of latitude and freedom that you had when you only got to worry about yourself.” Produced by Justin Gray (John Legend, Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, Joss Stone), LLL is available now via Nettwerk Records.
In 2011, Wanting was signed by Nettwerk Records as the label’s first Chinese Canadian artist who composes in both Mandarin and English. Since then, she has quickly risen in fame as one of most recognized singer-songwriters in Asia. Her debut album Everything In The World hit No. 1 on iTunes in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore and sold over a billion downloads in China, achieving multi-platinum status. Wanting was nominated and won prestigious awards (Golden Melody Awards, Global Chinese Music Awards, Hito Music Awards and Chinese Music Awards) in categories such as “Best Producer,” “Best Album of The Year,” “Song of The Year,” “Best New Artist,” “Best Music Composer” and “Best Singer-Songwriter of The Year.” Ms. Qu teamed up with Tourism Vancouver and became Vancouver’s first Ambassador to China in 2013 and 2014.
