Viral Duo Amistat Return with “Hello”
October 25, 2024 BY Bailey Vigliaturo
Today, the German-born twin brother duo Amistat has returned with a gorgeous new, heartfelt, intimate single called “Hello.” Diving into the emotional aftermath of a difficult breakup, “Hello” is poignant and personal, offering a reflective and cathartic exploration of healing and moving forward. It captures the universal experience of reconciling with the past and the journey of how to get there. “Hello” is accompanied by a gorgeous music companion directed by Mathieu Spadaro and is available on all streaming platforms here.

Born in Germany with roots in the Czech Republic and Australia, twin brothers Amistat—Josef and Jan Prasil—share an unspoken and unexplainable bond best sung aloud. The power of this bond courses through their familial harmonies and eloquent songcraft accented by individual idiosyncrasies. Songs unfold like stories with two narrators, allowing both voices space to ring out.
The pair developed a signature style over the course of a series of independent EPs highlighted by singles such as “Far From Home,” which generated over 2.9 million Spotify streams and counting. Along the way, they toured across Australia, the UK, and Europe, gracing the bills of the Woodford Folk Festival, National Folk Festival, Fairbridge, and Nannup. The duo shared their EP’s colour in life and a moment in the sun last year and have generated over millions of streams along with performing to packed crowds in multiple continents.
Amistat remains on the heels of incredible momentum after going viral with their cover of Lord Huron’s “The Night We Met.” They’ve gathered over 14M views and 687K likes on Instagram as well as 2.4M views and 295.5K likes on TikTok and this is just the beginning for them.
