Vindu SWEDEN-VIA-BOSNIA PRODUCER SHARES NEW “SLEEPY LOFI” EP ‘DREAMSCAPES’
November 11, 2025 BY Bailey Vigliaturo
Today, European lofi producer Vindu shares his new EP Dreamscapes, via Nettwerk. It’s his third project of 2025, following the Vindu, the Gaijin LP and the Sweden EP.
“Dreamscapes was a bit of middle ground in recent music making, shares Vindu, “blending ambient and lofi a bit. I played with the ideas of soft and mellow sounds, similar to the EP that I did in 2022. For the first time, guitar became a big part in the production, along with the piano. Those two are the main direction in this EP.”
For most of his career, Vindu has released lofi music inspired by Japan and Japanese culture. It wasn’t until last year, though, that he got to experience the country up close, when he planned a trip to propose to his now-fiancée. Vindu, the Gaijin was the first project he recorded upon return. “I felt like Japan was my second home, or my home in some past life,” he shares, “but now, I feel like a foreigner who is always welcomed there, in the mysterious and colorful lands of the rising sun.”
After this transformational journey to Japan, Vindu moved from Bosnia to Sweden with his fiancée and created a new ambient alias tokyo tapes to release the August EP Sweden, a commemoration to his new surroundings. Now, Vindu looks to expand his palette even further on Dreamscapes, a five-track collection of instrumental lullabies that offer a sonic balm for tumultuous times.
“When you are working on the same style of music for years, like everything else in life, you will hit a wall at some point,” explains Vindu on his embrace of new sounds. “Everybody needs a rest, and I feel that in the creative department, it hits quite strongly when you are hitting that wall! I usually get very strict and tough on my music production when I feel it is forced or not quite how I want it to sound like. Sweden and Dreamscapes felt refreshing and exciting.”
On Dreamscapes, Vindu takes control of more aspects of the art than ever before. Having long relied on AI for cover art, he had a new approach for this EP: “I took a sharp turn from using AI… and [did] it myself.” He also went out of his way to bring in collaborators—Swedish composer & pianist Akmigone, German lofi producer Cauzy, lofi/electronic beatmaker skyswimming and Indian lofi artist Prithvi—for every song, a break from his usual passive approach to working with others: “I usually do not reach out much, but this time I took out my phone and started sliding into DMs…. I felt a bit stuck in my music production for a couple of months, so reaching out to other artists felt really nice!”
