“I did this movie just for the soundtrack,” says Tig
“I also did this movie just for the soundtrack,” adds Miller

Ryan Miller, lead singer of Guster, scores music for “the engaging and moving documentary” (New York Times, 2015) Tig., which is currently streaming on Netflix.

“Good evening. Hello. I have cancer.” It was this performance in Los Angeles in 2012 that defined Tig as a raw and passionate performer and comedian.  Faced with a debilitating and mysterious illness, her mother’s death and a subsequent breast cancer diagnosis within a tumultuous four-month period, Tig’s search to make sense of it all forms a surprisingly uplifting film about one woman’s journey to find love and laughter even in the darkest of days.

Miller worked closely with director Kristina Goolsby in Los Angeles to find the right balance for the film. “I’m inspired by Ryan and it was a pleasure to work with him. His soundscapes are moving and complex, and have the power to bring you to your feet with joy or stop you in you tracks and help you grieve,” says Goolsby.

This is Ryan’s fourth film to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival along with Safety Not Guaranteed (2012), In A World…(2013), and The Kings Of Summer (2013).
