The Trews Announce U.S. Tour Dates; Kid Rock Lends Vocals To “Highway Of Heroes”

December 12, 2016 BY Nettwerk

Beloved Canadian rockers The Trews will make a special appearance here in the States when they ring in the New Year in Cleveland, OH as support for Red Wanting Blue (December 30 and 31). They’ll return to the U.S. on February 3rd for a headline tour starting in Boston, MA. All dates are below. The quartet are touring in support of their latest release, Time Capsule, a career-spanning, 21-track collection comprised of the band’s biggest hits and fan favorites, including “Not Ready To Go,” “So She’s Leaving” and “Highway Of Heroes,” along with four brand new recordings: “Beautiful & Tragic,” “Lotta Work/Little Love,” “Sing Your Heart Out,” and “Chinese Kites.” Additionally, Kid Rock lends his vocals to a special version of the patriotic “Highway Of Heroes.”

Watch The Lyric Video For “Highway Of Heroes (Feat Kid Rock)”:

Time Capsule sees The Trews simultaneously looking backward and forward to what they have accomplished since their debut in 2003, while formally beginning a new chapter with drummer Gavin Maguire, who joined the band in 2015. The four new tracks show that the band has remained true to their rock ‘n roll fire, with lead single “Beautiful & Tragic” – a co-write with the band and Serena Ryder – notably tipping its cap to ’70s glam rock. The track is currently #5 on the Canadian Rock Radio chart.

Comprised of lead vocalist/guitarist Colin MacDonald, lead guitarist John-Angus MacDonald, bassist Jack Syperek and drummer Gavin Maguire, The Trews have been one of Canada’s most successful rock bands of the past decade, earning 16 Top 10 Rock radio singles (including two #1’s) and two Gold-certified albums (House Of Ill Fame; Den Of Thieves). The quartet has also received multiple East Coast Music Awards, a CIMA Road Gold Award, an Independent Music Award (US) in 2009 for Best Rock / Metal Song, and numerous JUNO Award nominations.

To date, The Trews have played over 1,000 shows worldwide, on their own as well as supporting the Rolling Stones, KISS, Robert Plant, Guns ‘n Roses, Kid Rock and Bruce Springsteen.
