THE PAPER KITES RETURN WITH NEW SINGLE “WHEN THE LAVENDER BLOOMS”

Beloved alternative folk band The Paper Kites return today with a new single, “When The Lavender Blooms,” offering fans a first taste of their upcoming album, details forthcoming. Recorded at Melbourne’s iconic Sing Sing Studios and mixed by multi-Grammy Award winner Jon Low (Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Gracie Abrams), the song is a gentle ode to healing, hope, and emotional renewal. Set against a backdrop of lush guitar melodies and delicate layered harmonies, the warm and timeless track evokes moments reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours.

With “When The Lavender Blooms,” The Paper Kites stay true to their legacy of crafting quiet anthems for life’s most meaningful moments. Their tender songs—woven with aching harmonies and Bluesy guitar lines—echo through wedding halls, road trips, and restless nights, saying what words often can’t. From beloved scenes in Grey’s Anatomy, This Is Us, and Virgin River, to their breakout hit “Bloom” inspiring over two billion streams and countless covers (including by Kelly Clarkson), their music finds its way into hearts around the world. Having just completed appearances at Winnipeg Folk Fest and Ottawa Bluesfest, as well as special headline shows at London’s Summerset House and Amsterdam’s Amsterdamse Bostheater, The Paper Kites will return to the U.S. to support The Teskey Brothers along with a few headline shows and a set at Bourbon & Beyond 2025.
