“LaValle’s reimagining less replaces the original than it does recontextualize it, bringing a collaborative creative process and decades of live experience to launch the track’s into a new evolution. But, what remains constant are the gorgeous ambient melodies and lush, wide-screen arrangements that made the record special in the first place.” Under The Radar

Prestigious ambient electronic project The Album Leaf will return to the stage in February for a short headlining run of dates stopping in San Diego, LA, SF, Seattle, and Portland. His performance as part of the Long Center’s Lookout with Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith on February 20th in Austin has been postponed. A complete list of dates is below.

The tour supports creator Jimmy Lavalle’s new LP, One Day XX, a 20th-anniversary edition rework with longtime collaborator James McAlister of his career-launching record, One Day I’ll Be On Time.

Jimmy Lavalle has also announced a new collaboration with the app Calm creating an exclusive composition for Calm’s sleep songs. The track will be live inside the Calm app on January 27th. He explains, “As the creative platform at the forefront of sleep content, Calm has created a new genre of sleep music, ‘Sleep Songs,’ specifically designed to transform the listeners state from awake to deeply asleep. The songs are designed to start off more engaging and active (while still relaxing), and then slowly unspool and get more and more ambient over 60 minutes.” In addition to Calm, The Album Leaf also released a new track titled “MD 10” as part of Open Space Volume 2 – a series that aims to open up possibilities for artists to freely pursue their creativity in a completely undefined area, a space for exploration and connection. The compilation features new works by artists like Laraaji, John Beltran, Len Faki, and more.

Lavalle is also excited to share that “Something In The Dirt”, which features his original score, will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival 2022. This is the 4th film he has scored for filmmakers Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead.
