Synth-pop luminary Geographer trekked into the desert in an old convertible with his creative partner and girlfriend Monica Reyes and filmed a positively delightful video saga for an alternative version of his single “Alibi.” The buoyant track combined with the cast’s slick dance moves, will have the viewer bobbing in their seat. This altered version of “Alibi” will appear on his upcoming album Down and Out In The Garden Of Earthly Delights (out November 12th).

He explains, “This video is very, very special to me because my girlfriend, Monica Reyes, produced, styled, and starred in it, and it’s a uniquely fulfilling experience to be able to collaborate with someone you love, I’ve never had that before.  Her friend Katia Baladian directed it and my friend Sean Van Vleet is the other actor in the video. My manager is the stunt driver, and he’s driving my minivan, which had the incredibly dedicated camera operators strapped in with the door open, the director communicating with me on a walkie-talkie about my speed, whether we had to pull over and the whole time I’m pretending to be in this chill moment with my friends in a convertible vibing out and lip-syncing.

Formed in San Francisco, Geographer is the moniker for now Los Angeles-based artist Mike Deni. Part social scientist, part troubadour, if Geographer is an expert at anything, it’s precisely chronicling life’s imperfections. He has headlined many national tours, played Outside Lands, Firefly, and other festivals, released two critically acclaimed albums, and performed with such musical luminaries as K.Flay, The Flaming Lips, Young The Giant, Tycho, Ratatat, Betty Who, and Tokyo Police Club.
