Swedish-Greek Singer Songwriter Plàsi Releases “Run” From Upcoming Spring EP

March 27, 2020 BY Nettwerk

Last year, the half-Swedish, half-Greek songwriter, producer, and musician Plàsi released his stunning sophomore EP Mystery, which featured singles “Mystery” and “Bright.”  Today, Plàsi returns with a glorious new song called “Run.”

Released through Nettwerk Records (Passenger, Angus & Julia Stone, SYML), “Run” is about stepping outside of your comfort zone to explore the real side of oneself. Moving away from where dreams are created to find the place where they are realized. More specifically, “’Run’ is about a parent’s realization that the time has come for a child to move ahead on his/her own feet,” Plàsi explains.  Adding, “it hurts and it’s frightening to let go of one’s long-held dreams for a child, but at the same time you know it’s the only thing to do for him/her to fully explore their way of life.”

About Plàsi:

Mikael Bitzarakis (a.k.a. Plàsi), is a musician who can count the traditions of two countries in his musical heritage. Born to a Greek father and a Swedish mother and raised between the two countries, he has a rich background to draw on in his musical work.  Back in Sweden, he studied guitar, piano, bass, and drums in school while later graduating to the singer/songwriter program at the country’s prestigious Rytmus School, as well as learning from his mother and aunt, both music teachers. On Crete, he watched his father, a traditional Greek folk musician, performing around the island. Crete was also home to his father’s studio, a musical playground when growing up.  His music started to gain international recognition on streaming platforms with his debut album People, which was followed by two European tours including Iceland Airwaves and Eurosonic, and supporting Henry Jamison & José González. With last year’s release of his Mystery EP, Plàsi was signed to Nettwerk Records’ worldwide roster and went on his first headline tour across six countries and got the chance to support labelmates Hollow Coves.  Over the past couple of years, he has received press support from the likes of The Line Of Best Fit, Earmilk, NBHAP, and God Is In The TV.
