Stu Larsen Shares “The Shadow”

November 14, 2025 BY Emma Orland

Today, Stu Larsen, the prolific Australian singer-songwriter with a wild streak of wanderlust and a knack for tastefully marrying narrative and melody, is excited to share “The Shadow.” Recalling Stu’s past, “The Shadow” dives into bringing previous thoughts to the forefront of one’s mind. Stu shares on the track, “This song draws from the deep past and has me rewinding time to ask my younger self, ‘who are you?’ and also pressing pause in current life for a moment to ask myself ‘who are you?’ and then ultimately hitting fast forward to the future, facing myself once again with this seemingly ever-present question – ‘who are you?.’

“The Shadow” is a gorgeous offering from Stu Larsen’s latest collection of music, set to be released in 2026.

ABOUT STU LARSEN:

Larsen grew up in a small rural community in Queensland. Around 2010, he decided to see and experience the world as authentically as possible. So, he packed his bags and joined friend and fellow musician Mike Rosenberg, better known by his stage name Passenger, on tour. Stu adopted the nomadic lifestyle that would inform the entirety of his early catalogue – i.e., the debut album Vagabond and follow-up LP Resolute — but a period of personal upheaval helped inform Larsen’s third full-length outing, Marigold, which saw him dealing with the end of a relationship. He was joined by another longtime friend and fellow musician, Tim Hart (of Boy & Bear), in Sydney’s Golden Retriever Studios. Stu has set sail for a new chapter in his journey, with a new collection of songs ready to be unleashed for listeners.
