Intense emotional growth is often the best fuel for a musician’s creative fire. Rosie Darling has certainly turned pain into beauty on her debut EP Coping (out now via Nettwerk Records).
Coping is a time capsule, an intimate window into Rosie’s life, encased in a vulnerable kind of indie-pop. The overarching theme of the EP is finding yourself after going through the universal motions of heartache, saying, “…through my form of storytelling I hope to help others relate their experiences to each other and find meaning in their own story.” “Witness” highlights Rosie’s ability to draw on her own experiences to help others going through something similar cope. In fact, several snippets of the track have each received over 500k Tiktok views and catapulted her TikTok followers from 19k to 103k in 4 months.
On the latest release, Rosie teams up with Rajiv Dhall, whom she met in a writing session. A singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist in his own right, Rajiv is also a famous influencer with over 1.25 million subscribers to his Youtube channel.
About the track, Rosie says, “Rajiv singing on this version allows you to imagine the other person’s perspective, which is equally as important as your own. I’m so happy he was able to be a part of this story.” Rajiv adds, “it was amazing to collaborate with Rosie; I loved the song when I first heard it, so when she asked me to be a part of it, it was a very fast yes.”
“Witness” is only the latest example of her viral success. With her first single and artist statement – “Coping” – Rosie has amassed 14 million+ Spotify streams (21 million+ streams across all platforms), charting on 14 different Spotify Viral 50 charts, landing Top 20 on the Global Viral Chart.
