Roses & Revolutions Share Stage With Gin Wigmore; Listen To “Big Bad Wolf”
June 11, 2018 BY Nettwerk
Alyssa Coco and Matt Merritt, the Upstate duo known as Roses & Revolutions share a new song, “Big Bad Wolf.” With Coco’s dramatic vocals and Merritt’s skilled production, “Big Bad Wolf” is the latest single from an upcoming EP to be released this year (details to come).
“’Big Bad Wolf’ is about how the often the past has a way of catching up to you. What goes around, comes around. In the end, we get what we deserve. Lyrically, it pays homage to old Western tales. The first time we played “Big Bad Wolf” live was when we opened up for Kaleo in Orlando last year. The reaction was better than any other song we’d ever tried out on a crowd, and since then, we couldn’t wait to record it.”
On June 6, the band joined Gin Wigmore on her U.S. headline tour. The month-long tour kicked off at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom before they head west to Los Angeles for a sold-out show at the famed Troubadour. Full dates below.

Critic Quotes:
“Coco’s breathy voice drips into the rhythmic creases between guitar notes and subdued hi-hats, giving this one an eerie and melodic feel to it. The desolate production provides a soundtrack to seclusion; emphasizing the escapist attitude of the lyrics.” – Indie Shuffle
“Roses & Revolutions have been killing it this year.” – YourEDM
“It’s a collaboration that is very much beauty and the beast, Coco’s sensuous and arresting vocals take the foreground, while Merritt rages behind the scenes.” – Artist Direct
“It’s clear that the delicate dynamics of Roses & Revolutions are undeniable and point to a powerful new voice in today’s indie-pop scene.” – Northern Transmissions
“[Moment] grasps onto their folk roots but pushes the boundaries into feverish, percussion-based electro-pop…Rising out of the ashes of quaking thumps and dizzying swirls, the pair finds their way.” – Popdust
