Rising Cinematic Pop Artist Nina June Shares “Raven’s Feather” From ‘Shadows & Riddles’ EP (Out 11/1)

Amsterdam-based, silver-blonde songstress Nina June creates cinematic pop songs that tell tales of the complex forms of human connections – sensual fables about the paradoxes of intimacy and independence. With latest single “Raven’s Feather,” she elegantly combines electronic sound design with acoustic elements.
With its own distinctive sound that she describes as “melancholic nostalgia,” her music parallels that of artists like Ane Brun, The Paper Kites, and Air. Nina says about the song, “”Raven’s Feather” is about the love of a young couple, unaware of the dangers of the outside world. Captured by a sudden storm they find themselves whirled into the sky, not knowing if they will ever land back on their feet again.”
Nina released her debut album Bon Voyage to critical acclaim back in 2018. Mainly self-produced by Nina and her musical companion Lieuwe Roonder, Electronic North called it a “unique and poignant sound” and Black Book proclaimed it as “impassioned and heartfelt.” For her debut, she was inspired by the cinematic compositions of Thomas Newman (American Beauty) and Michael Nyman (The Piano), as well as the ethereal pop of Rhye.
Many people all over the world discovered Nina’s music through streaming services and several international films and TV-series. This led to playing in New York, receiving the Zilveren Notekraker in Amsterdam (a national prize for most promising new talent), singing with Thomas Dybdahl on stage and supporting Alex Vargas.
