Riley Pearce Shares New Song “Golden Retriever” From Upcoming EP ‘Love And All That Stuff’

Today, alt-folk singer/songwriter Riley Pearce shares a new song “Golden Retriever,” a summery, guitar driven track about being with that special someone who makes even the most mundane tasks seem fun. Riley calls the track a “cheeky tale of how I met my girlfriend, and the realization that this is the girl I want to spend the rest of my life with.”

“Golden Retriever” is from Riley’s upcoming EP, Love and All That Stuff, out March 19, 2021. In the past, the Perth-based artist has often written about his difficulty coping with change and his love-hate relationship with nostalgia. With family spread across the globe and his own stretches of living in a number of different cities, Riley’s lyrics reflect that all too human need for connection. But on Love and All That Stuff, Riley steps out of his comfort zone and showcases a different style with a 5-track collection of love songs. “This EP is all about journeying through life alongside someone you love, the ups and downs of a relationship, constantly trying to improve yourself for them, planning a future together and letting someone eat the last chip because you know they’d appreciate it.”

Riley has previously shared EP tracks “All My Love,” an effecting track celebrating the joy and stillness that comes from having a partner who brings out the best in you, and  “Electricity,” a warm ballad about the uncertainties a young couple faces as they pursue their passions and careers. All songs hint at the overarching theme of the Love and All That Stuff: navigating life with a special someone.

Riley’s honest song writing and relatable storytelling has resonated both in Australia and overseas, with over 60 million streams to date. An in-demand live touring artist, Riley has sold out headline shows around the world and supported the likes of Lord Huron, Tash Sultana, Lifehouse, The Paper Kites and Lucy Rose.
