RHODES Releases New Album ‘(un-finished)’

Today, acclaimed singer-songwriter RHODES has unveiled his third studio album (un-finished) via Nettwerk– listen here.  Created amid a time of self-reflection, the new album is the London-based artist’s most cohesive and honest work to date, showcasing a new depth of vulnerability. 

Speaking on the new release, RHODES says: “I started writing this album in the Summer of 2022. I was in the middle of a deeply introspective period of self-reflection and looking back a lot at my past, my childhood, and the traumas we carry through generations in our families. I’d come to a point where I started to realise that the way I saw the world was distorted, the lines had been blurred in places I didn’t expect them to be, and I was struggling to see my true reality. I was always balancing somewhere between being alright and completely falling apart and my coping mechanisms were damaging to not only me but also to the people around me. I couldn’t accept that there was a way through anything beyond what I’d always known, and I started to unravel, unfolding all of my core beliefs with this existential feeling of ‘am I even myself?’

Throughout my life I’ve always been acutely aware of how all of this has affected me and my relationships and as I began to open up about it more, I realised that we’ve all experienced similar emotional turmoil, sometimes on a smaller or larger scale but almost always we can relate to each other through these kinds of feelings.”

Today’s release boasts ten stunning personal tracks, written by RHODES with his signature emotive vocal. (un-finished) includes previously released tracks ‘Happy’, ‘Sunlight’, ‘How I Love You’, ‘Toothpaste’, and ‘All I’ve Ever Known’, with the addition of six brand new songs.

To celebrate the release of his new album, RHODES will be embarking on a UK/Europe solo acoustic tour this month, including shows in Edinburgh, Manchester, and London. (un-finished) follows RHODES sophomore album Friends Like These, released via Nettwerk in January 2023. Friends Like These, recorded and produced during lockdown with Rich Cooper (Billie Marten, Rina Sawayama) and Ash Workman (Christine and the Queens, Metronomy), is a ten-track collection of tales on love, loss, friendship, and hope. The release of Friends Like These marked RHODES’ first release since his 2015 debut album Wishes, which included Let It All Go, a duet with Birdy that has amassed over 233 million streams on Spotify alone.
