Raleigh, NC Producer linanthem Shares Affirming EP ‘(self) care,’ pt.1′

Today, North Carolina downtempo producer linanthem shares his EP (self) care, pt. 1, due via Nettwerk. This will be his second project of 2023, following his March LP sonder (HERE). The follow-up EP (self) care, pt. 1 is set for release in early 2024.
In line with the title, (self) care, pt. 1 is designed to encourage taking better care of oneself, and is a direct continuation of his 2019 project (self) reflection. The six-track EP is full of layered lofi beats; jazzy instrumentals with prominent bass lines and hard drum kicks.
“I take feelings from certain periods,” explains linanthem, “and turn them into these abstract art forms of music. It’s not only therapy for me, but it’s enjoyable and stress-relieving for the listener. All of that goes into self-care because you never want to listen to music and feel worse, right?”
Five of the six tracks from the EP were previously released as singles but new track “willpower” packs a punch with its warm guitars and intriguing keyboard riffs. With a running time of under 90 seconds, “willpower” demands an instant repeat.
