Raleigh, NC Producer linanthem Announces ‘(self) care’ EP Series; Part 1 Due December 1

Today, North Carolina downtempo producer linanthem announces his upcoming EP (self) care, pt. 1, due via Nettwerk on December 1. This will be his second project of 2023, following his March LP sonder (HERE)

In line with the title, (self) care, pt. 1 is the first in a series of projects designed to center self-care, and is meant as a direct continuation of his 2019 project (self) reflection. The six-track EP is full of layered lofi beats; jazzy instrumentals with prominent bass lines and hard drum kicks.

“I take feelings from certain periods,” explains linanthem, “and turn them into these abstract art forms of music. It’s not only therapy for me, but it’s enjoyable and stress-relieving for the listener. All of that goes into self-care because you never want to listen to music and feel worse, right?”

Today, linanthem shares “gap in the clouds,” the fourth single from the EP. As synths and strings resound, upright bass underlines a jazzy swing topped off with the clink of wine glasses. This beat will have you floating in no time.
