Radical Face has unveiled the first official video from his latest release The Family Tree: The Leaves, the final installment of The Family Tree trilogy. Followers of the trilogy will notice “The Road To Nowhere” as a follow up track to the “The Gilded Hand” from The Family Tree: The Branches. The beautifully eerie video portrays the song like a short film, featuring a young boy held captive by The Gilded Hand who uses his newly discovered magical powers to kill his captor, break free and become a leader to other children in the town. The video premiered yesterday on Buzzbands.la. Watch it below.

Radical Face finishes the European/UK portion of his tour this week with three back-to-back sold-out London dates before returning home to launch the U.S. portion of the tour, starting on May 10 in Los Angeles with a sold-out show at the Teragram Ballroom and wrapping May 28 in Philadelphia at World Café Live. He will also appear at the Newport Folk Festival on July 22. All dates are listed below.

The Family Tree: The Leaves brings to a close an unprecedented musical journey that began in the back shed of Ben’s family home in Jacksonville, FL nearly 10 years ago, and solidifies him as a unique and prolific storyteller. Having always been interested in stories surrounding multi-generational family sagas, Ben embarked on a series of “Family Tree” albums, which trace the fantastical lives of a 19th century family, The Northcotes. Certain melodic patterns are used to represent certain family members, and those melodic patterns mutate and are passed down from generation to generation. This last installment continues the narrative of The Northcotes, offering a polished, textured sound entirely crafted by Ben, who plays nearly all the instruments on the album. His DIY-ethic, which was forged in the early days with a four-track in his family’s back shed, has evolved into a lushly orchestrated album.
