Pop Singer-Songwriter Molly Millington Announces Headline Tour Dates In November; Releases New Single “Healing”
October 6, 2023 BY Emma Orland
Today, singer-songwriter Molly Millington announces a run of East Coast headline shows in support of her new single “Healing”, out today. See all dates and purchase tickets below.
The final preview before Molly’s debut EP 5 Stages arrives on Friday 17 November,
“Healing” stands as the EP’s closer, and it carries as much weight as the full journey of healing really should. Across her ever-growing catalogue of music, there is an honesty and raw vulnerability layered within Molly’s songwriting, and “Healing” truly encapsulates her ability to translate an emotion so raw and real into a song that can, literally, heal. It isn’t about the glamorous, face mask and bubble bath Instagram filter kind of healing, but instead it’s the kind where you admit that even while you’re moving through it, you’re still allowed to hurt.
On the track, Molly says, “‘Healing’ was my first co-write, I wrote with Pip and Rob. The day before, someone I thought I’d moved on from came back into my life and my emotions were all over the place. I’d written half the song the morning of the session and the rest was improvised in the moment. In an odd way, writing this song really helped the healing process.”
LISTEN & SHARE “HEALING”:
Produced by ARIA-nominated Xavier Dunn and featuring recent singles “Foreign Accent”, “Bleach”, and “Healing”, Molly’s debut EP 5 Stages explores the five stages of grief through the lens of the rise and fall of her whirlwind engagement, which occurred within the span of a month while Molly was in the US.
Conceived across only a handful of days, the record explores a whole stretch of emotions across its five tracks – from the wide-eyed optimism of new love on full display in “Foreign Accent”, to anger, grief, sadness, and acceptance. With a maturity and understanding that can take whole careers to master, each of these very personal reflections is carefully wrapped in a tenderness and comfort that ensures that, at their core, there is space for every listener to bring their own experiences.
