PLATINUM-SELLING ARTIST SYML ANNOUNCES ‘PARIS UNPLUGGED’ ALBUM OUT 9/26

October 1, 2025 BY Bailey Vigliaturo

Prolific multi-diamond artist and producer SYML invites listeners into an intimate space with his new live album, Paris Unplugged, out September 26, 2025. Recorded while in Paris, France, this past summer at Le Consulat, the album distills his emotional songwriting into an unfiltered performance that feels deeply personal and universally moving. Accompanied by Brian Eichelberger, Zawadi Morrow, and Kyle Moore, the songs are stripped of excess production, revealing the fragile heart at the center of his music and offering fans a chance to experience the closeness of his live shows—where silence, melody, and emotion intertwine. This is SYML at his most human: present, unguarded, and profoundly connected to those listening.

Brian Fennell adds, I was on the roof three floors up from the crowd gathering on an unseasonably warm day in the middle of Paris. Even when it’s happening I still can’t believe that strangers come to see and hear me play songs. But, when we’re in it together, nobody is a stranger.

There was an art gallery in the open balcony above where we were shooting, so the whole day felt like we were part of the exhibit. It made me uncomfortable at first, but in hindsight it was a perfect metaphor for what we were creating.

We picked Le Consulat, an intimate room in this vibrant city, to feel a sense of pulling inward amidst the real-time speed of life. My album Nobody Lives Here is meant to be heard and felt that way, letting us slow down and focus, and I’m so glad we captured this show and can share it now.”

Today, he shares “Careful – Paris Unplugged” and “Fear Of The Water – Paris Unplugged.” “Careful” is originally from his third studio album, Nobody Lives Here, whichwas released this past April. The live version delivers one of his most poignant and vulnerable performances to date, built on sparse, atmospheric instrumentation that frames his soaring yet fragile vocals, capturing the emotional honesty that has become SYML’s signature. With its haunting vulnerability and soaring falsetto, “Fear Of The Water” quickly emerged as a fan favorite from his debut EP Hurt For Me.

Nobody Lives Here is SYML’s clearest and crispest writing to date, looking grief, loss, and mortality directly in the eye, unwavering and harmonious.  Written, recorded, and produced by him, it is fueled by the keen understanding that life is a contradiction, a fleeting moment. As he accepts the presence of loss, he still welcomes others into his space with melody, lyrics, a slide guitar, or a cello’s hum, reflecting on the passage of time, the weight of expectations, and the intimate, sometimes unsettling beauty of change.

This fall, SYML will head back on the road for the extensive Nobody Lives Here headline tour, which includes stops in Europe, Canada, the UK, Portland at Revolution Hall on December 4th, and Seattle at the iconic Moore Theatre on December 5th. Joining him in Canada will be Canadian singer-songwriter Beyries, and for Portland and Seattle, he will be supported by Bubble Tea and Cigarettes.  A full list of dates can be found below.

With over four billion streams, SYML, Welsh for “simple,”— makes music that taps into the instincts that drive us to places of sanctuary, whether that be a place or a person. It is a way for him to explore identity and belonging and embrace vulnerability and solace in the face of change. Born and raised in Seattle, Fennell studied piano and became a self-taught producer, programmer, and guitarist.  He released his self-titled debut album in 2019, which included the multi-platinum song “Where’s My Love” and the Gold Record fan favorite “Girl.” His 2023 sophomore album, The Day My Father Died, described by NPR as“euphoric,” was recorded at Studio X with renowned producer Phil Ek and features collaborations with Elbow’s Guy Garvey, Lucius, Sara Watkins of Nickel Creek, and Charlotte Lawrence. His music has become the soundtrack to countless films and TV shows, including a recent usage of “Girl” in The Summer I Turned Pretty, and was used by Lana Del Rey on the song “Paris, TX,” from her Grammy-nominated 2023 album. In 2024, he launched an imprint, FIN. Recordings, a collaboration with his label, Nettwerk Music Group, and management team, Good Harbor Music.
