Plàsi Shares New Track “Remember” From Upcoming EP “Where I Belong” (Out May 29)
April 24, 2020 BY Nettwerk
Following the release of his blissful EP Mystery, half-Swedish/half-Greek songwriter, musician and producer Plàsi returns with his tranquil new offering “Remember,” out today via Nettwerk. The track is the first release from his upcoming EP Where I Belong, set for release May 29.
Taking a trip down memory lane, “Remember” is imbued with lulling guitar melodies and soaring string instrumentation – creating a soft haven for the listener to reside in. Hazy memories of youth are dappled in apricot sunsets and ripples of saltwater, longing for carefree days spent under the endless blue sky.
“‘Remember’ is a song looking back upon the days of childhood, when time was the last thing that mattered”, Plàsi explains. “A nostalgic attempt to try finding the way back to these undemanding moments. Moments we tend to move away from as we are growing up.”
The release of his debut album People in 2018 saw Plàsi conquer the streaming world, with over 40 million plays on Spotify alone. After signing to Nettwerk in 2019, his folk-tinged melodies have garnered support from the likes of The Line of Best Fit, EARMILK, God Is In The TV, and Stereofox.
With his EP Where I Belong soon to follow in May, “Remember” harnesses the natural beauty of the landscape to create a deeply personal narrative.
Mikael Bitzarakis (a.k.a. Plàsi), is a musician who can count the traditions of two countries in his musical heritage. Born to a Greek father and a Swedish mother and raised between the two countries, he has a rich background to draw on in his musical work. Back in Sweden, he studied guitar, piano, bass, and drums in school while later graduating to the singer/songwriter program at the country’s prestigious Rytmus School, as well as learning from his mother and aunt, both music teachers. On Crete, he watched his father, a traditional Greek folk musician, performing around the island. Crete was also home to his father’s studio, a musical playground when growing up. His music started to gain international recognition on streaming platforms with his debut album People, which was followed by two European tours including Iceland Airwaves and Eurosonic, and supporting Henry Jamison & José González. With last year’s release of his Mystery EP, Plàsi was signed to Nettwerk Records’ worldwide roster and went on his first headline tour across six countries and got the chance to support labelmates Hollow Coves. Over the past couple of years, he has received press support from the likes of The Line Of Best Fit, Earmilk, NBHAP, and God Is In The TV.
