Plàsi Reveals New EP ‘Camino’ + Shares Video for “Father’s Eyes”

Following millions of streams and global critical acclaim, the Greco-Swedish singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist (a/k/a Mikael Bitzarakis) continues to distinguish himself on his new EP Camino out today via Nettwerk.

The five-track EP, Camino, celebrates creative freedom, self-discovery, and the courage to walk your own path. Named after the Spanish word for “path,” Camino is both personal and universal—an anthem for those striving to break free from expectations and live in alignment with their passions.

“Creating music and sharing it has opened up this Camino for me,” Plàsi explains. “It’s saved me in dark times and helped me enhance the happy ones. Living out my passion has made me a better person—more human, less opportunistic.”

Sonically, Camino finds Plàsi fusing his signature acoustic roots with more expansive production. “It’s a playful EP where I really live out my musicality,” he says. “I’m showing off my own roots and not being ashamed of who I am.”

The project was brought to life between Stockholm and Plàsi’s new home of Amsterdam, where he built the second studio of the Swedish producer collective Röda Paradise. There, alongside longtime collaborators Hannes Hasselberg (Moonica Mac, Melissa Horn, Jens Hult) and Linus Hasselberg (aka Stuzzi), he shaped the EP’s warm, organic base with a renewed sense of freedom and joy.

The new track “Father’s Eyes” features lush alchemy of bright guitar, pulsating beat-craft, and evocative vocals underscores open-hearted storytelling. At a pivotal point, he accepts, “You run away, but it looks like you.”

“I was searching for a grounded feeling where you could feel the acoustic elements without losing the bigger picture,” he goes on. “I finally found that sound on ‘Father’s Eyes’. It’s about the toxic relationship we can have with our parents. We don’t want to see or learn from our similarities. Instead, we’re just trying to be different from them. The lyrics are like a discussion between a father and a son. You get both sides. However, there’s a hopeful undertone. Maybe we can learn from one another instead of focusing on our differences.”

On the title track, sunny whistling and a loose tropical beat set the tone for a message of personal independence: “For now, I walk my camino,” he sings. “It’s not the easiest thing to do,” he admits. “In this world, we’re put in boxes… but I remind myself to follow my own path instead of worrying about what others think.”

With Camino, Plàsi invites listeners to do the same, to stay close to their dreams, embrace who they are, and keep walking.

Emerging in 2015, Plàsi has quietly eclipsed 100 million total streams, garnering rave reviews from the likes of Earmilk and Atwood Magazine, to name a few. Along the way, he has toured with the likes of Axel Flóvent, Hollow Coves, Henry Jamison, Efterklang, José González, and more.
