PERUVIAN PIANIST AND COMPOSER SERGIO DÍAZ DE ROJAS RELEASES MOVING NEW PIECE “NUESTRA CAJA DE POSTALES Y OTROS RECUERDOS” (OUR BOX OF POSTCARDS AND OTHER SOUVENIRS), SIGNS TO NETTWERK MUSIC GROUP
November 4, 2022 BY Jason Currell
Peruvian pianist and composer Sergio Díaz De Rojas signs to Nettwerk and releases a moving new piece, “Nuestra Caja De Postales Y Otros Recuerdos,” which translates to ‘our box of postcards and other souvenirs’.
“This piece is a reminder of the adventures I have experienced with my partner along the years: the cassette we released together back in 2017 when we first met, the postcards we collected during our trips around Spain, Germany, Austria and Hungary, various small objects we encountered in diverse flea markets, museums, and antique stores, and other meaningful items that evoke our precious memories together,” says Sergio.

His works have been carefully crafted on limited cassette and vinyl editions and streamed over eighteen million times worldwide. His track Untitled was one of the most celebrated features on Nils Frahm’s Piano Day 2018 playlist, while his piece Istanbul was not only included on the first publication of Upright Editions but was, too, a key element on the birth of the project, according to its founder Garreth Brooke.
More recently, he toured around seven European cities — Prague, Jičín, Almere, Utrecht, Amsterdam, Krems an Der Donau, and Barcelona — to celebrate Piano Day 2022.
