Paris Paloma Announces Debut Album ‘Cacophony’ Out 8/30; Makes National TV Debut on The Kelly Clarkson Show

March 29, 2024 BY Emma Orland

Breakout UK sensation Paris Paloma weaponizes words with her fiery, vulnerable lyricism. Ranging from the tender and heartbreaking to the sublimely aggressive and vengeful, her ethereal sound takes influences from dark pop, folk, and indie, creating a discography that evokes something primal, powerful, and innately feminine. Today, she announces her momentous debut album Cacophony is set for release on August 30th. The 15-track album includes her previously released tracks my mind (now)” “drywall,” “as good a reason,” “yeti,” and the viral Billboard charting single “labour.” Pre-order HERE

“I love the feral, feminine aspects of my music,” says Paris. “Being unapologetically vulnerable feels wild – it’s breaking down boundaries, a return to something primal.”

Kicking off the whirlwind album announcement, Paris performed a haunting rendition of “labour” on The Kelly Clarkson Show. The rallying cry, which struck a nerve with women around the globe, broke over 100 million streams on Spotify, cracked the Official UK Singles Chart and US Billboard Chart, and soundtracked tens of thousands of TikToks, takes on new wings in the performance. Accompanied by an all-female choir and cellists, Paris’ voice soars in the halls of Tate Britain, famously known for their landmark Women in Revolt! exhibition of feminist art. Watch HERE.

Armed with an evocative collection of songs, Paris is bringing her spell-binding live show to the U.S. for her debut headline tour, starting June 12 in San Francisco at The Chapel and wrapping June 26 in New York City at Bowery Ballroom. The tour sold out instantly, adding to her previous bout of successful sold-out UK headline shows and a European tour with Maisie Peters. All upcoming dates are listed below.

Earlier this month, on International Women’s Day, Paris caused an uproar with the announcement of LABOUR (the cacophony), a new EP celebrating the 1 year anniversary of “labour.” The post reignited fans’ excitement, with over 6 million views on TikTok and 3 million views on Instagram. “LABOUR (the cacophony)” was born out of the symbiotic care between Paris and her devoted fanbase. She’s cultivated a community both online and off: on TikTok, her 500K followers send her videos (of thoughts, song snippets, and tour moments) into six-figure views. Fan-made art and videos analyzing her lyrics span social media.  These are roots laid deep, as Paris gains wider recognition from NME to Billboard, as YouTube’s Trending Artist on the Rise and a Breakthrough Artist to Watch 2024 by Amazon.

Through her thoughtful and confident lyrics, Paris Paloma paints pictures and tells stories with her songs, drawing parallels between the past and present to bring her own perspective on themes of love, grief, death and power. With a Goldsmiths degree in Fine Arts, her songwriting and visuals are inspired by fantasy as much as real life, drawing inspiration from mythology, art history and the Romantics, alongside the human experience. Cacophony is inspired by Stephen Fry’s Mythos, ruminating on the creation myth. “From this chaotic cosmic yawn, creation sprang forth,” Paris explains, “so this is a collection that makes sense of the overwhelming space of my mind where my anxiety, my OCD, and trauma processing lives.”
