Oliver Hazard Releases New Single “Saratoga” Today

April 28, 2023 BY Jason Currell

Waterville, Ohio indie-folk trio Oliver Hazard release their new single “Saratoga” off of their forthcoming full-length album, details TBA.  “Saratoga,” is an anthem that sees the raw, effortless energy of the band’s melodies take center stage. Listen to the song HERE.

‘Saratoga’ is a melody that we wrote when the band was first getting started. It is a song about being disarmed by someone else. There is a mystical quality to the music and lyrics that allude to witchcraft. It is an earnest and heartfelt song about the beginning of a relationship.”

Catch Oliver Hazard on tour this spring and summer where they will be performing their new music off their forthcoming album for the first time. Starting April 20th, the band will be joining Houndmouth on tour in Harrisburg, PA with the tour wrapping on May 6th in Newport, KY.  They have also just announced a handful of summer headline shows, which will lead into Oliver Hazard Day, a yearly festival created by the band to support the local community, on August 12th in the band’s hometown. About Oliver Hazard:

The story of Waterville, OH indie-folk trio Oliver Hazard – Michael Belazis (vocals, guitar) and Devin East (vocals, guitar) and joined by Nate Miner (keys, vocals) – is the digital age’s version of classic band mythmaking. One member of the band came home to Ohio after leading camping trips in California and decided to make an album with two childhood friends. They won a Facebook raffle to record one song at a studio. Instead, they played their whole album straight through once, resulting in their debut LP 34 N River (2018). The Fader called the album a “folk-pop masterpiece” and the band was booked at Bonnaroo and Mountain Jam shortly thereafter. In 2019, the band released their 6 track EP, The Flood, which Billboard called a “souvenir.” The band is gearing up to release their new LP later 2023, which is the work of 3 individual singers, songwriters and multi-instrumentalists, who share an organic connection in the craft — sensibilities that yield music that’s harmonic, haunting and also ambitious and surprising.
