Oatmello & Ornithology Share ‘Halftime’ EP; ‘Eternity’ LP to Follow

Today, Portland-based producer/instrumentalist Oatmello and avian-influenced producer Ornithology share their collaborative EP Halftime. The 4-track project is a fitting precursor to their upcoming LP Eternity, which they also announce today.
“Oatmello and I,” shares Ornithology, “met on the internet while exchanging DMs and being fans of each other, but we also got a chance to meet in person when I was visiting LA a few years ago. We made a few songs then and continued making music until we compiled it into an album!””
While these two prolific producers and friends have released numerous collaborative singles in the past, Eternity represents Oatmello and Ornithology’s first time working together on an album. The two began recording Eternity in Los Angeles even though neither artist resided there at the time; Oatmello flew in from Oregon and Ornithology flew in from India to make the first session happen.

ABOUT OATMELLO
One of the first Lofi artists to gain traction on Soundcloud and develop the sound of the genre today, the Oatmello project blends elements of jazz, ambient, hip hop, and electronic into a dream-like, introspective experience that has accumulated over 250M streams worldwide. Envisioned as an antidote to our current world of attention-demanding media, constant notifications, and building anxiety, Oatmello sees his music as a continuation of the tradition of instrumental hip-hop, which has existed for 30 years. Classically trained in piano, Oatmello continuously explores new sounds, production techniques, and collaborations seeking to continue the evolution of the genre.
ABOUT ORNITHOLOGY
Ornithology is the anonymous lofi moniker of Shaan Chhadva aka SCayos, a musician who wanted to be an ornithologist when he was younger. Focusing on production and cozy beats, this passion project continues to value the love of bird watching and the importance of chasing your childhood dreams, whatever they may be. After a debut LP in 2021 and an EP in 2022, Ornithology is planning his first release with Nettwerk in Spring of 2023.
