NPR Music Premieres The Weepies “No Trouble” Video

“If the mix of extreme parkour with a gentle acoustic folk band seems jarring, it’s supposed to.” – NPR Music

The new video for single “No Trouble” from Sirens is the first to actually feature Deb Talan and Steve Tannen, better known as folk/pop duo The Weepies, and for their debut video appearance, they pulled out all the stops. “No Trouble,” which premiered yesterday on NPR Music, shows the band turn downtown Los Angeles into their personal parkour playground (with some help from stunt doubles of course).

Tannen says, “This was an important song to us personally, and the concept was phenomenal – the video opens with Deb literally jumping off a building, followed by a parkour chase through the streets of LA – and the whole thing is a metaphor for love. Director Robert Sebree pulled out all the stops, the stunt team was world class, and the result surpassed all our hopes – it looks spectacular, it’s fun and heartfelt. We’re excited to share it!”

The Weepies are in the midst of a North American tour in support of Sirens with their full band of talented musicians, including famed drummer Pete Thomas, Johnny Flaugher on bass, Meg Toohey on electric guitar and Brad Gordon on keys. All dates are below.

Deb and Steve began writing together the night they met. On the strength of their simple yet insightful songwriting and distinctive harmonies, they have quietly sold more than a million records, with over 17 million streams on Spotify, 20 million views on YouTube and over 100 TV/film syncs.

Five years since the release of Be My Thrill, The Weepies return with Sirens, an album that runs the emotional spectrum. Just before Christmas 2013, Deb was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. While she was in treatment, the band continued to write and record from their home studio in Iowa, where they now live with their three children. In the summer of 2014, Deb beat cancer. Coming back from the edge sharpened the duo’s skills and focus. Sirens shows a band at the height of its powers.
