North-Carolina Indie Pop Outfit THE COLLECTION Signs To Nettwerk; Shares New Single “Sorry Baby”

September 9, 2022 BY Bailey Vigliaturo

North Carolina indie pop outfit The Collection have signed to Nettwerk, and today they share their new single “Sorry Baby,” a playful, indie pop song about trusting your intuition and not taking outside voices too seriously. Lead singer David Wimbish says, “I wrote this one with the intention of exploring the concept of being unapologetically oneself. What I’ve realized is that sometimes that means not listening to the nay-sayers around you, even if it hurts their feelings or expectations.”  “Sorry Baby” is available everywhere tomorrow, September 9: https://thecollection.ffm.to/sorrybaby.

The Collection is fronted by Wimbish who is based in Saxapahaw, NC, a quaint village on the cusp of the Appalachian Mountain range, while his merry bunch of bandmate friends are spread out across the state.

“Sorry Baby” follows their sticky “Won’t Stop Yet,” which got the band their first chart in the Triple A radio format and a modest viral moment on Tik Tok to boot. A 2019 NPR Tiny Desk Judge’s Pick, their raucous live show has drawn accolades and major festival slots nationwide and has seen them touring with pals The Oh Hellos, RIPE, and Tall Heights. The Collection will spend the rest of 2022 on the road touring to support the new singles and eventual EP, details TBA. They’ll join label-mates Sammy Rae & The Friends as support on their fall tour as well. All dates are below.

The Collection is the latest signing to join Nettwerk’s growing roster, which also includes Sammy Rae & The Friends, Wild Rivers, Passenger, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness and more.
