NICOTINE DOLLS ANNOUNCE NEW EP ‘HOW DO YOU LOVE ME’ OUT 12/8;  “REAL HOUSE” OUT NOW

October 20, 2023 BY Bailey Vigliaturo

On the heels of their nearly sold-out headline tour, NYC alt-pop/rock band Nicotine Dolls announce their forthcoming EP How Do You Love Me, out December 8th, with new single and video, “Real House.” Forming in 2017, the group consists of lead singer Sam Cieri, guitarist John Hays, bassist John Merritt, and drummer Abel Tabares.

Already receiving recognition from the likes of Billboard, How Do You Love Me includes previous releases, “Slip,” and the title track “How Do You Love Me” released over the summer. This very personal and introspective EP contains the band’s typical raw grittiness, stand-out vocals, and lyrics that evoke emotion unlike anything you’ve ever felt.

Sam describes the upcoming project, “Looking through these 5 songs is the easiest way for me to explain to someone what the last 2 years of my life has been like. There are themes consistent with self-realization, emotional ambition, and awareness of who, and where, I am at this point…Allowing myself to fully indulge in stuffing every corner with sound, while also learning to be ok with the more stripped and revealing moments.”

The theme of heartbreak continues on their new vulnerable new single, “Real House,” highlighted by its cinematic crescendo.

“This song came about when I found myself in a false realty me and the person, I was with had created. We had tried to make things work in a real way. We were together for a few years and things fell apart. After that we would find our way back to each other and in those moments, it would go beyond the physical. We would allow ourselves to fully embrace to fantasy,” describes Sam.

He continues, “The lights go down and it’s all perfect but then they come up, someone yells cut, and it’s over.”

Nicotine Dolls make the kind of music you can’t hide from. The storytelling is front-and-center, beckoning your attention like a dusty old novel you can’t put down until the last page.

Until now the group has steadily released singles and EPs since 2019 and developed a loyal social media community, including over 1 million TikTok followers. In July 2022, lead singer Sam appeared on America’s Got Talent. Despite the viral audition, they decided not to pursue the show. Nicotine Dolls delivers a safe space in their music for those suffering from heartbreak, anxiety, and depression and those looking for hope.

The band brings these feelings to life with their dreamlike performances on their current headline US tour. Their cult-like fanbase has already sold-out major markets, including NYC, Boston, Chicago, and Detroit. Check out the entire run here: https://nicotinedolls.com/live
