“While varied, their sound is never left floundering in the realms of mish-mash obscurity, instead finding a sense of direction balanced between indoor and dancefloor,” – i-D Magazine

“With a combination of hip hop swagger and explosive bass music aesthetics, Australian duo Hermitude has become a force to be reckoned with” – DJ Times

“Their latest original, “Through the Roof” featuring Young Tapz, is simply jaw-dropping”

Nettwerk Records is excited to announce the signing of Hermitude, the award-winning duo based in Sydney, Australia. In 2015, expect the duo to release Dark Night Sweet Light (via Nettwerk Records), the long awaited follow-up to HyperParadise, a beautifully inventive record of future beats and electronica. Their meticulous production, musicianship and passion for instrumental music demands attention.

Multi-instrumentalists, Luke Dubber (aka Luke Dubs) and Angus Stuart (aka El Gusto), have collaborated since they were 16 and 11, respectively. With the Platinum-selling HyperParadise, the band won Australia’s Music Prize, modeled after Britain’s Mercury Music Prize and Canada’s Polaris Prize, whose single goal is to identify and reward the most outstanding creative Australian album of the year. Hermitude beat a shortlist of talented artists, including Tame Impala, The Presets and friend/collaborator, electronic producer and instrumentalist Flume. The Flume remix of title track, “HyperParadise” has nearly 8 million Soundcloud streams and topped Hype Machine’s “Most Popular” at #1.

Hermitude have fast become one of Australia’s most in-demand touring acts and are set to make further inroads in the 2015 with festivals slots at Lollapalooza, Governor’s Ball, Lightning In A Bottle, Wakarusa, Counterpoint, Osheaga, Summer Camp Music Festival and most recently at SXSW and BUKU Music + Art Project. Full festival dates below, with headline shows to be announced in the coming weeks.

This year, the band shares a brand new track, “Through The Roof,” from Dark Night Sweet Light. “Through The Roof” is a lively new single that begins with a rewired Mariachi section sounding the horns before ascending into a powerful synth riff set to swinging drums. Last week, Entertainment Weekly premiered the official music video.
