June 26, 2015 BY Nettwerk
Last night, the independent label community came together at NYC’s Highline Ballroom for the fourth annual A2IM Libera Awards, known to the community as “The LIBBYs,” which celebrates the past year of achievements in independent music. With two of the nine nominations in the category for “Best Sync Usage,” which celebrates the most creative or most impactful use of independent music in a film/tv/ad campaign, Nettwerk won for Family of the Year’s “Hero” as used in the 2015 Golden Globe-winning, Oscar-nominated film Boyhood. The second nomination was for Passenger’s “Let Her Go” in Budweiser’s 2014 “Puppy Love” Super Bowl ad.
Nettwerk’s Sr. Director of Advertisting/Branding Karen Macmillan (pictured to the left with category sponsor Silva Screen’s Keith Ferreira) accepted the award on behalf of Bobby Lavelle (VP Film & TV Music) and the rest of Nettwerk’s Film & TV department. Watch the trailer for Boyhood below.
