Nettwerk Welcomes Ben Levin To Its Management Team
January 25, 2017 BY Nettwerk
Artist Manager Ben Levin has joined Nettwerk Management. Levin spent the past 14 years with TMM as part of Wilco’s management team, where he also managed indie-pop band Lucius, folk singer-songwriter Aoife O’Donovan, composer/percussionist Glenn Kotche, jazz guitarist Nels Cline and jazz trumpeter Dave Douglas, as well as co-managed folk trio I’m With Her. He will join Nettwerk Manager Dalton Sim (Father John Misty, Nate Ruess, Guster) in Nettwerk’s Boston office.
“After working for over a decade with TMM, I am thrilled to partner with Dalton Sim and Nettwerk Management,” says Ben. “We have a unified vision of working with career artists across genres, each of whom has a unique voice and story to share.”
Sim adds, “After admiring Ben’s work with Wilco and the development of Lucius over the last few years, it’s really exciting to have him join us. While we share core artist management philosophies, Ben is bringing a new creative approach to management that makes him a great partner for Nettwerk.”
Accompanying Ben to Nettwerk are – Lucius, who spent 2016 touring in support of their critically-acclaimed sophomore album Good Grief, performing with Roger Waters at Desert Trip, and completing their first score for the film Band-Aid, which premiered yesterday (January 24) at Sundance; Aoife O’Donovan, whose recent album, In the Magic Hour, included one of the New York Times best songs of 2016, and who can be heard in the house band of several upcoming A Prairie Home Companion episodes; folk trio I’m With Her (co-manager); and Grammy Award-winning engineer Joe Visciano. Levin, a graduate of Northwestern University, lives in Northampton, MA with his wife, two boys and hound dog, and will split time between Northampton and Nettwerk’s Boston office.
Nettwerk Management expects an exciting year all around for its roster. Mike Posner had a huge 2016 with his smash single “I Took A Pill In Ibiza,” for which he is nominated for his first Grammy Award for Song Of The Year. Father John Misty is set to release Pure Comedy, the follow up to his critically acclaimed 2015 album I Love You Honeybear, on April 7. U.K. alt rock band Stereophonics celebrates their 20th anniversary with the release of their 10th studio album later this year. Prolific storyteller Radical Face will release a new EP and headline San Francisco’s famed The Fillmore as part of the Noise Pop Festival in February. Los Angeles-based indie pop/rock band Family of the Year and orchestral indie rockers Typhoon are both in the studio working on new albums. Other recent additions to the management roster include the much buzzed about indie-pop trio SHAED, pop songstress Caroline Pennell and sought after producer/musician Jordan XL.
