Nettwerk Manager Tom Gates Becomes SVP, A&R and Strategy At Nettwerk

Tom Gates, longtime Nettwerk artist manager, shifts roles at Nettwerk Music Group to become SVP, A&R and Strategy.

Gates, who has been with Nettwerk for a total of 15 years, previously served as Arista Records’ Director of Alternative, Rock and AAA Promotion and worked with famed Nettwerk artists Sarah McLachlan and Dido, as well as Arista’s groundbreaking artists like Annie Lennox and Patti Smith. In 2002, he moved into management at Nettwerk, fostering the talents of Brand New, The Format and fun. He would go on to co-manage Christina Perri, MILCK, Good Old War and Mike Posner, whose “I Took a Pill in Ibiza” has over a billion streams on Spotify. 

Gates comments, “I can’t think of a better time than right now to add a manager’s perspective to a record label that values careers, rather than moments. I feel lucky that in this position I will be able to use my favorite aspects of that job, as well as everything I learned before manager life.”
