June 19, 2015 BY Nettwerk

Nettwerk Music Group (Nettwerk) announced today that it has acquired an interest in Justin Time Records (Justin Time), an independent record label with a 30+ year history of releasing jazz and blues records from such luminaries as Diana Krall, Oscar Peterson, Oliver Jones and Ranee Lee. The label also includes releases from 2015 Juno nominees Marianne Trudel, Jane Bunnett and Angela Galuppo.

Under the arrangement, Nettwerk and Justin Time have formed a strategic relationship whereby Justin Time can leverage Nettwerk’s international infrastructure in order to continue to grow its catalogue of jazz and blues recordings, as well as sign new artists, all under the continued leadership of Jim West, Founder and President of Justin Time.

Nettwerk President/COO Simon Mortimer-Lamb says, “We are very excited to welcome Jim West and his amazing label into the Nettwerk fold. The combination of Nettwerk’s worldwide infrastructure and Jim’s creative vision will allow Justin Time continue to grow its already wonderful roster and strengthen its over 30 year legacy.“

Jim West, President of Justin Time, adds, “I could not be happier to be working with Nettwerk, a company I’ve long admired. This new association allows me the opportunity to focus on signings and overall basic growth of the label. It’s a wonderful new home with seasoned professionals and the sky is the limit.”

Nettwerk has seen strategic growth across its label, management and publishing divisions over the past 12 months, with the addition of a Nashville office, a joint venture with Los Angeles-based 1916 Management and most recently, the 50% acquisition and go-forward publishing joint venture with Ten Ten Music Group and the acquisition of Robot Of the Century Music Publishing. The current Nettwerk roster includes such internationally acclaimed artists as Passenger, Family of the Year, fun., Guster, Wanting, Sinead O’Connor, Perfume Genius, Stereophonics, Olafur Arnalds and Chromeo, as well as sought after songwriters like Neil Mason, Jesse Jo Dillon and Andy Hill.
