Neo-Classical Artist Neighborhood Libraries Signs To Nettwerk; Shares “Youth”
November 15, 2021 BY Nettwerk
Vancouver-based composer, producer, film scorer, and neo-classical performer Taylor Swindells aka Neighborhood Libraries is excited to announce he has signed to Nettwerk. The project began while Taylor was transitioning from a musician’s life of travel to stasis when the world shut down in early 2020. He started to create ambient-electronic, piano-driven music that helped him work through his feelings of hope, wonder, fear, anxiety and ultimately enabled him to seek peace. Swindells, who previously performed in indie-rock outfit The Tourist Company, retreated into his home studio, aptly named The Edge Of The World, to write and produce drawing inspiration from fellow neo-classical composers like Olafur Arnalds and Peter Broderick.
He shares his sweeping new single, “Youth.” He adds, “it remembers what it was like to have energy. I turned 30 recently, and this piece served as an introspection to my 20’s, always chasing some idea with a full head of steam without any thought of the destination.”
