October 14, 2022 BY Jason Currell

Multi-instrumentalist and Chicago native Michal Leah releases her viral track “The Way I Love You,” via Nettwerk. This is the pop singer-songwriter’s first single release since signing to the label.

Nettwerk’s SVP A&R and Creative Operations Tom Gates says, Michal’s talent is beyond her years. Not only does she possess one of the most incredible voices I’ve heard, she is also already an extremely skilled writer who I have no doubt will be sought-after even outside of her own project.

Michal describes the track, “‘The Way I Love You’ is about a boy who I like very much.”  She continues, “It just made me feel so special, and it still does… People have been showing me so much love by showing their relationships — even ones they have with family members. It applies to so many different situations.

Michal cowrote the track with the esteemed Elsa Curran and Grammy-nominated producer Yakob; Grammy-nominated Adam Grover mastered the track. “The Way I Love You” sound on Tik-Tok has already garnered over 60 million views, as well as recognition from Meghan Trainor, Lauren Spencer Smith, Camylio, and more.

Although just the beginning, 2023 is truly shaping up to be Michal’s breakout year.

About Michal:

Michal Leah might be only 19 years old, but the Chicago-born soul-pop songwriter and multi-instrumentalist sings with the wisdom, range, and intuition of an artist with decades’ more experience. Born to a highly musical family, the first-generation American singer grew up listening to a range of artists, both classic and contemporary: Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra, Daniel Caesar, and Billie Eilish.

Since growing her reach on TikTok, where hundreds of thousands of followers connect with Michal’s gentle and vulnerable compositions on a daily basis, she has spent the last couple of years flying to and from Nashville (plus doing Zoom sessions) penning new material with songwriters such as Andrew Tufano, Stephen Barnes, and Tofer Brown, among others. In a matter of weeks, she will hit the road on her first major tour opening for Eloise. Between the tour and plans to release at least two more new studio projects, Michal is most definitely a superstar on the rise.
